Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl halftime show on February 14, 2027.
The announcement confirms the rapper as the lead performer at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. He is the first artist to book himself for the event in recent memory. His company, Roc Nation, holds a partnership with the NFL that includes producing the halftime show. Roc Nation has handled the production duties since 2019. The NFL has not yet named the teams competing for the championship. That decision is expected in late January 2027.
The performance window is strictly 14 minutes. The NFL sets this time limit for all halftime acts. The specific setlist and guest appearances are not yet public. Jay-Z has not released a statement detailing who will join him on stage. However, several artists have strong connections to the rapper that make them likely candidates.
Beyonce is the most prominent name associated with the event. She is married to Jay-Z and the two share three children. They have collaborated on multiple tracks, including 'Crazy in Love' and 'Drunk in Love.' Their history on the NFL stage is extensive. Beyonce performed at halftime in 2016 alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars. She also sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2001. In 2024, she headlined a halftime show during a game in Houston.
Rihanna is another strong contender for a guest spot. Jay-Z helped launch her career as the CEO of Def Jam Records in 2005. She signed with Roc Nation in 2010. The two have recorded songs such as 'Umbrella' and 'FourFiveSeconds.' Rihanna recently joined Jay-Z on stage at Yankee Stadium during his current tour. She headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023. During that performance, she announced her pregnancy.
Blu Ivy Carter, the eldest child of Jay-Z and Beyonce, is also a possibility. She performed as a dancer at her mother's 2024 halftime show in Houston. She has also danced on the Cowboy Carter tour. The young artist has a dedicated fanbase that attends NFL games with her father. Her presence would add a family dynamic to the performance.
Eminem is the fourth artist linked to the event. He joined Jay-Z on stage during the rapper's current tour. The two collaborated on the track 'Renegade' for the album The Blueprint. Eminem performed at the 2022 Super Bowl as a special guest. He joined a hip-hop lineup for that halftime set.
The final guest list could include one or more of these four artists. It could also include other names not yet discussed. The NFL and Roc Nation will likely release more details as the date approaches. The halftime show will air to a national audience on the same day as the championship game.
